S. 2446	Sen Obama, Barack [IL]	American Fuels Act of 2006: The legislation proposes the creation of an Energy Security office to promote the energy security and stability of the United States by reducing the dependence of the United States on oil through the use of alternative fuels and new technology. H.R. 4990	Rep Israel, Steve [NY-2]	Local Clean Energy Initiative Act of 2006: This legislation proposes the establishment of a federal program to provide up to 20 percent of the costs of implementing clean energy projects funded by the Clean Energy Bond Act, to local governments that establish Clean Energy Bond Act grants. Clean Energy Projects are defined to include alternate transportation fuels (i.e. methanol, ethanol, E85, biodiesel, or other fuels derived from biological materials) and replacement of local government fleets with fuel flexible or hybrid vehicles.	3/16/2006: Referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
