Valri Lightner
Valri Lightner is a Lead Engineer within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of the Biomass Program leading the multi-year planning activities. She is also the Designated Federal Officer for the USDA/DOE Biomass R&D Technical Advisory Committee.
Previously she worked with the Fuel Cell Team where she ran a national research, development and demonstration program on fuel cell technology primarily focused on transportation applications. Ms. Lightner co-chaired the FreedomCar Fuel Cell Technical Team which is part of the FreedomCAR and Fuel Industry-Government Partnership. She also led a team that ran a national research and development program to improve the energy efficiency and environmental footprint of the forest products industry. During that time, Ms. Lightner chaired the International Energy Agency Pulp and Paper Executive Committee.
Ms. Lightner has over 20 years of experience in managing technology development for the federal government and a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University.
